Dizzie Rascal joins RHCP at Knebworth

Dizzee Rascal will make a spectacular return in 2012 supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers at Knebworth Park, Stevenage on Saturday 23rd June. The US rockers return to the UK following last year’s sold out arena tour to perform two massive open air shows – their only UK dates of 2012. As well as Knebworth Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be returning to the North-East of England for their first ever major show (their only previous appearance being the 400 capacity Newcastle Riverside gig in 1990) when they appear at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Sunday 24th June. Dizzee’s return to the live arena in 2012 will see him perform alongside one of the most successful rock acts of all time. Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs and won six Grammy Awards, including ‘Best Rock Album’ for Stadium Arcadium, ‘Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group’ for Dani California, ‘Best Rock Song’ for Scar Tissue and ‘Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal’ for Give It Away.

For their new music video, Red Hot Chili Peppers had to perform in four seperate rooms, all four of them being filmed simultaneously by four cameras in the round. The rooms represent each band members’ personalities, thus all the props and artwork used in the rooms came from their personal collections. Instead of having a drawn-out day of shooting, the band completed the video within four whole takes, impressing the director Robert Hayles.

The 6th edition of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam is on, this year the boys in bull will now give 3 successful bands the chance to devise, create and produce their very own high spec music video in conjunction with a team of industry professionals.

This year’s Red Bull Bedroom Jam will be giving 8 bands the chance to play four of the UK’s best summer festivals – Slam Dunk, Hevy, Download and Sonisphere. In addition to this, the overall champion will then get studio time in the state-of-the-art recording space, Red Bull Studios London and a support slot of a major artist’s UK wide tour.

Tidy.

From Monday 30th January 15 weekly shows will present the best of this year’s entries before it goes to the vote on who will make it through to the festival stage.

Andrea Bocelli has launched the Andrea Bocelli Foundation with a star-studded event. The intimate evening included dinner and a concert starring Andrea Bocelli, accompanied by Carlo Bernini, David Foster, Heather Headley and Anna Maria Martinez.

Also in attendance were Camilla Belle, Julie Benz, Michael Bolton, Natalie Cole, Taylor Hackford, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, Linda Ramone, Chris Spencer, Harvey Weinstein, Evan Rachel Wood, and many more.

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation, led by President Laura Biancalani, is a grant making body, aimed at providing funding, promotion and support to a range of initiatives and causes. The Foundation will provide financial agents for a small number of initiatives in order to deliver tangible results for people most in need. Two types of programs will be supported – those that alleviate poverty and those that help people overcome barriers caused by illness, discomfort or disability with innovative and original projects.

Andrea Bocelli presented the first foundation award, a Girard-Perregaux World Timer timepiece, to iconic music recorder and producer Quincy Jones. The GP World Timer chronograph features the worldwide time zones with day and night indicator and a black leather strap.
